Pulpit

The pulpit dates back to 1697. The four Evangelists—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—stand in the conch-vaulted niches.

The pulpit cross stands out: In the past, the preacher could hold it in his hand. Sermons were delivered from here until the Second Vatican Council. Acoustically, it was the perfect spot.

With the renovation, the ambo (the lectern) took over this function.
